The Luchadoras of Desastre Total Ultraviolento (DTU)

The luchadoras of Desastre Total Ultraviolento - DTUToday we have a fairly new (since 2007) Mexican wrestling promotion called Desastre Total Ultraviolento (DTU).
DTU is a hardcore lucha libre group being promoted by a current Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) luchador, Crazy Boy.
The promotion is based out of Tulancingo de Bravo, Hidalgo and features Crazy and some of his fellow luchadors like Joe Lider, Electroshock, Negro Navarro, Los Traumas, Último Gladiador and more.

DTU has also picked up quite a few new luchadoras...

Current Luchadoras List

I tried this awhile back, but here is what I hope is a fairly up to date roster for the luchadoras in the Mexican wrestling promotions, Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and Lucha Libre Femenil (LLF).
Maybe like last time, if I have any glaring errors, Cubs Fan will show up and straighten the mistakes out.
By the way, if you like Lucha Libre and you haven't been to Luchawiki, what are you waiting for?
It's the most comprehensive Lucha Libre site on the net, bar none.

More Sarita in TNA

Sarah Stock, Dark Angel, Sarita...no matter what you call her, she is the most popular woman on this blog.
This lovely young lady originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada has wrestled for Top Rope Championship Wrestling, Can-Am Wrestling, Real Action Wrestling, Lucha Libre Femenil (LLF), almost wrestled for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), Shimmer Women Athletes and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

Sarah has turned heel in TNA and was temporarily out with a torn tricep, but she's back now.

Last month I did the Sarita versus Taylor Wilde match, so this month let's go back a bit farther for Sarita taking on my favorite Goth Goddess, Daffney.

Sarita vs. Taylor Wilde

The most popular luchadora on this blog is, hands down, Sarah Stock.
Of course she was born in Canada, and most wrestling fans in the US know her as Sarita on TNA, where she has recently turned heel and started a feud with her ex-tag team partner Taylor Wilde.
But lucha libre fans know that she has worked for Mexican wrestling promotions like Lucha Libre Femenil (LLF), Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and has been very popular south of the border.

Some of her fans still refer to her as Dark Angel, the name she used when she wrestled masked in Mexico.

Anyway, here is a video of Sarah taking on her ex-partner Taylor from TNA Xplosion on July 14th, 2010.

You know, Princess Sugey is the one that beat Sarah and took her mask and Sarah's TNA name is Sarita which means "princess".
Hmmmm....

The Top Ten Luchadoras of June 2010

I haven't done a top ten list here since August of last year, so let's see who the most searched for luchadoras were on this blog last month....

sarah stock - luchadoras - dark angel luchadora1. Sarah Stock
Although she has wrestled under many names, (Dark Angel, Sarah Stock, Sarita (in TNA), Sweet Sarah, Sarah Swayze, Natasha Graves, Sarah Griffin Canadian Dark Angel) this young lady is popular under any of them.
In Mexico she has wrestled for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), Federación Internacional de Lucha Libre and Lucha Libre Femenil.

2. Martha Villalobos
Old school heel Martha Villalobos came in at number two.
Her father Panchito Villalobos trained her, and she made her wrestling debut in 1979.

3. Kaoru
Oddly enough Japanese wrestler KAORU (Kaoru Maeda) came in at number three.
Kaoru wrestled for the CMLL wrestling promotion back in the 1990s.

4. Marcela
María Elena Santamaría Gómez is always popular, and last month came in at number four.
She was also trained by Martha Villalobos' father Panchito, and made her lucha libre debut in 1985.

5. Faby Apache
Faby Apache was trained by her father Gran Apache and two Joshi legends, Aja Kong and Mariko Yoshida.
She made her pro wrestling debut on January 20, 1998.

6. Alicia Webb
Alicia Webb worked as X-Pac's valet in Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) back in 2008.
But thats about all I can find that she did in Mexico.

7. Atenea
The daughter of luchador Iván El Bronco and luchadora La Malinche came in at number seven.
Her sister Coral is also a masked luchadora.

8. Amazona
There are two Amazonas.
One debuted in 1994 and the other is the daughter of luchador Lobo del Norte, so I'm not sure which one this is.

9. La Chacala
The tough as nails Carolina Escobedo Villanueva came in at number nine.
I'm not sure if she wrestles exclusively for Lucha Libre Femenil or not.

10. Mima Shimoda
Japanese female wrestler Mima Shimoda continues to be very popular.
She seems to have that perfect balance of skill, sexiness and a mean streak a mile wide.

Honorable mention....

Lady Apache
Princesa Sujei (Princesa Sugey, Princesa Sugeith)
Lola Gonzalez
Luna Magica
Nikki Roxx

Sarah Stock to WWE?

sarah stock - dark angel - lucha libre
Luchadora Sarah Stock, Dark Angel, Sarita, has wrestled all over the world.
She has worked for wrestling promotions like Manitoba's Top Rope Championship Wrestling, Afa Anoa'i's World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW), Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling and many others.
Then Sarah moved down the map and went to Lucha Libre Femenil where she began wrestling masked as Dark Angel.
Sarah lost her mask to Princesa Sugey and went to Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA).
She wrestled for them for awhile, then moved on to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) where she began to enjoy great fame and success.
Of course then she was hired by the American wrestling promotion TNA, and began to wrestle here as Sarita.
Still loving her Mexican fans, she split her time up between TNA and CMLL, appearing in shows in Mexico and even winning the CMLL Bodybuilding Championship four years in a row.
In TNA, she and Taylor Wilde won the inaugural Knockout Tag Team Championship.

But now rumor has it, that when her TNA contract is up, she will go to WWE.
Actually, a lot of TNA Knockouts seem to be looking at making that move.

But will the WWE allow Sarita to compete for them and still do CMLL shows?
Of course Vince wants to be a driving force in Mexico (as well as the rest of the world), so could Vince see this as an "in" to get into Mexico?

Now, how will they use Sarah if they get her?
They are not known for using female talent very well, just look at Jillian Hall and Katie Lee Burchhill.
Will Sarah just be regulated to comedy spots?
Or could we see a WWE title belt around her waist?
And how will she affect ticket sales?
Defecting from TNA didn’t seem to help Gail Kim much, but that was a WWE/TNA/WWE thing.
Sarah would be coming in fresh.
Plus she has a very big and loyal fan base.
I think Sarah could, as Mick Foley once said, "...put a lot of butts in the seats."

So we have to wait and see.
TNA, WWE, CMLL..Which way will she go?

Dalys La Caribeña - Luchadora

Dalis La Caribeña is a newcomer to the Mexican wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).
Like a lot of other luchadoras and luchadors, Dalis has an extensive wrestling family.
Her husband is luchador Negro Casas, her brother is Veneno, her brother in laws are Felino, Heavy Metal, her father in law is Pepe Casas, her sister in law is Princesa Blanca and her nephews are Tiger Kid and Puma King.
She was trained by her husband Negro Casas and she made her Lucha Libre debut on October 6th, 2009 at the Arena Mexico.

Dalis is a former kickboxer, and she uses a lot of kicks in her matches.
So far she has teamed with other luchadoras like Lady Apache, Marcela and Lluvia and gone up against Amapola, Princesa Blanca, La Seductora and Mima Shimoda.

Claudia Del Solis - Luchadora

I did a write up on the beautiful Claudia Del Solis on my Women's Pro Wrestling blog, but since she has journeyed into Mexico, I thought I would do an entry on her here as well.
This five foot seven, 170 pound female wrestler is based in Texas and has done a LOT of work for Indy wrestling promotions up here.
She has worked for promotions like Old School Wrestling, World Of Wrestling, Mid South Wrestling, All American Wrestling and many, many more.

But what gets her on this blog is that (if I read her MySpace page right) she has also done some wrestling for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) and I have seen where she has worked for Lucha Libre Femenil (LLF) in Mexico.

La Rebelde started out masked, but lost her mask to Irma González in 1992 at the Arena Cuchillo.
Her finishing move was the La Cruceta, a kneeling figure four leglock.
She once held the Mexico State Women's Tag Team Championship with La Mohicana.

Luchadoras - Gizza and Freedom

Possibly the best looking luchadora tag-team in Mexico, Gizza and Freedom wrestle for the Guerreros Universales wrestling promotion in Monterrey.
Like your women petite and athletic?

Then check out 5 foot one Gizza.
Don't think this beautiful young luchadora is a push over though.
Before entering the world of Lucha Libre, she studied karate and gymnastics.
Combine those two with wrestling training, and you have a potent combination.
She was trained by Luchador Ares.

Like them a bit more muscular and defined?

Then check out Freedom.
I really couldn't find out much about Freedom, but from the looks of her, I'm pretty sure she has a bodybuilding background.
